The NBA suspended Los Angeles Lakers guard Patrick Beverley for 3 video games with out pay on Thursday for forcefully shoving Phoenix Suns middle Deandre Ayton from behind and knocking him to the court docket.
Per the NBA launch, the suspension was “primarily based partially on Beverley’s historical past of unsportsmanlike acts.”
The incident occurred with 3:55 left within the fourth quarter of the Lakers’ 115-105 loss at Phoenix on Tuesday.
Beverley was assessed a technical foul and ejected from the sport.
He’ll start serving his suspension on Friday when the Lakers go to the San Antonio Spurs. He’s eligible to return for Los Angeles’ recreation in opposition to the Portland Path Blazers on Wednesday.
Beverley, 34, is averaging 4.1 factors, 3.9 rebounds and a couple of.9 assists by 14 video games this season, his first with the Lakers.
