Frequently asked questions
How do I know what X/Y/width/height values to use?
X and Y are the top-left corner of the area you want to keep (in pixels from the image's top-left), and width/height are how large that kept area should be — open your image in any viewer that shows pixel coordinates to work these out.
Will cropping reduce my image quality?
No — cropping just keeps a sub-region of the original pixels exactly as they were; nothing is resampled or compressed unless you use a separate compression tool afterward.
What if my crop box goes outside the image bounds?
Keep the box within the original image's dimensions — a box that extends past the edge will be clipped to whatever image data actually exists there.
