Why does this show 100% packet loss for a site I can reach in my browser?
Many servers and firewalls block or deprioritize ICMP ping traffic specifically while still serving normal web traffic fine — a failed ping doesn't always mean the host itself is down.
What counts as "good" latency?
Under ~50ms is excellent, 50-150ms is typical for a decent connection to a reasonably distant server, and anything consistently above 200-300ms may indicate a slow route or distant server.
