I’m obsessed with air fryers and have already shared way too many air fryer recipes on this site. But this is not the end. Meatballs made in the air fryer are so delicious, easy, and the perfect addition to a bowl of pasta and red sauce.
This air fryer meatball recipe is super easy. These go well with any sauce or gravy. But if you want something more flavorful, try stuffed meatballs. I also love that when cooking in the air fryer, you can see all the liquid fat that drains out during cooking (the oil is in the bottom of the air fryer, under the grates). Therefore, this is a light option for cooking something delicious that the whole family will like.

- Ground Beef, Ground Pork, or Mix – See Notes
- italian bread crumbs
- milk
- egg
- garlic
- Parmesan cheese – powdered is best for this recipe
- salt and pepper
If you want to add more spice to this mix, feel free to add more. You can try things like onion powder, cayenne pepper, chili powder, or even Italian seasoning.

Finely chop the garlic.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Mix together to make meatball batter. Using your (clean) hands, make 16 balls of him that are approximately the same size.
Spray a small amount of nonstick spray onto the air fryer grate. Next, put the meatballs inside.
Air fry at 400°F (204°C) for 12 minutes. The internal temperature should reach 165°F, but you can also cut it open and check that the inside is no longer pink (a little pink is fine, but it should be raw ).
Serve warm with pasta and sauce, gravy and mashed potatoes, or whatever you like.
Tips and notes
- If desired, you can add parchment paper to the airfryer. If so, this recipe recommends adding a few slits or holes in the center to allow excess fat to drain to the bottom (under the grill).
- The air fryer is a great tool for air frying, so the meatballs will be almost crispy on the outside. 🙂 So these also make great appetizers. However, be careful not to heat it too much as it will dry out.
- I like to use a ground meat mix in this recipe. I often use ground beef from Boston Burger. This is 60% beef and 40% pork and is commonly sold at the grocery stores I frequent. But for this recipe you can use any minced meat. Please note that if you use leaner ground meat (chicken, turkey), the nutritional information will differ from the nutritional information in the recipe card below.
