How to buy Manuka Honey
Manuka honey is available in a variety of MGO contents as measured by the UMF™ (Unique Mānuka Factor). The more MGO in Manuka honey, the more rare it is and therefore the more expensive it is.
Here’s why we continue to use Flora’s Manuka Honey:
- UMF™ certified. Genuine Manuka honey has a UMF™ (Unique Mānuka Factor) certification rating on the label. If you don’t have it, don’t get it. This internationally recognized third-party verification system tests four distinctive compounds.
- All batches are traceable to the hive. For lab test results, scan the NFC code on the label. Places where you buy Manuka honey should share their lab test results and be upfront about their source.
- Sustainably sourced: Flora sustainably sources its Manuka honey from New Zealand’s indigenous Maori-owned beekeeping operations..
How strong of Manuka honey should I use for this hot toddy?
If you only want to enjoy Manuka honey’s unique flavor properties, an MGO strength of 30+ or 100+ is sufficient for everyday cooking.
If you are interested in the beneficial therapeutic effects of Manuka honey, an MGO strength of 250 or higher is best to use.
