Juventus and Manchester City began talks over a possible transfer for Kalvin Phillips in January, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Juventus showed interest in the former Leeds United midfielder last month and were contacted by City last week to see if they were interested. That appears to be the case, but there is still a long way to go before an agreement is reached between the two clubs.
Juventus have so far proposed signing Phillips on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to make his contract permanent in the summer. However, City want to make it compulsory to sign him at the end of the season.
Phillips has no place in manager Josep Guardiola’s plans and is thought to be open to the idea of him going to Juventus, who need midfield reinforcements with Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli suspended, possibly for a very long time.

Calvin is said to be open to a move, and negotiations have begun between the clubs.
