Kristaps Porzingis appears ready to return to the Boston Celtics. “I’ll be in line for the next game,” Porzingis posted on his Instagram.
As a result, Porzingis is scheduled to play against his former team, the New York Knicks, on Friday. The Celtics and Knicks were both eliminated from this week’s in-season tournament and will face off in Boston on Friday night.
The Celtics’ big man has missed the last four games against Boston with a strained left calf. Porzingis limped into a game against the Orlando Magic on November 24th due to the injury. Porzingis left that game early and hasn’t played since.
Porzingis played in 15 games this season, averaging 18.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks. He also shot a career-high 54.7 percent from the field in his first season with the Celtics.
