The playoff pairing for the Europa League finals for the 2023/24 season has been decided, with each team withdrawing from the Champions League and continuing their quest for continental glory.
AC Milan, who finished behind Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League group, will face France’s Rennes for a place in the last 16 of the competition. The seven-time European champion has never won this competition.
Elsewhere, Jose Mourinho’s Roma will face Dutch giants Feyenoord in a European competition for the third consecutive season. The Portuguese tactician won the award with Manchester United in 2016/17 and led his current side to European Conference League glory in 2021/22.
The knockout stage begins on February 15th, with the return leg taking place seven days later on February 22nd.
The winners of these draws will take part in the last 16 draw, along with the eight winners from each Europa League group.
West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool are the Premier League opponents awaiting them, while Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen are one of the favorites to advance after a strong start to the season.
The draw for the Europa League round of 16 will take place on February 23rd.
