The Detroit Pistons have lost their 22nd straight game on Friday. The game wasn’t close, as the Philadelphia 76ers escaped with a 32-point victory over the Pistons.
After the game, Detroit coach Monty Williams made no attempt to hide his disappointment at another loss.
“It’s discouraging. That’s the way it is. When you hold a team like that to 26 points (in the first quarter), you’ve got to take advantage of that and make some shots,” Williams said.
The Pistons are four games away from tying the longest single-season losing streak in NBA history. This questionable record matches the 26-game losing streak of the 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers and 2013-14 Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers hold the overall losing streak record with 28 games from the end of the 2014-15 season to the start of the 2015-16 season.
