The right to freedom of movement is the right to move about and choose where to live, both within and outside one's country. It's recognized in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and in the International Covenant on Civil and Political .The right to freedom of movement includes:

• The right to move within a country, including the right to choose where to live
• The right to leave any country, including one's own
• The right to re-enter one's own country 
  

        There are some restrictions on freedom of movement, such as when it's necessary to protect national security, public order, or public health. Legal guardians may also restrict the movement of minor children or those who are legally deemed incompetent. Employers may also restrict the movement of employees and terminate employment if those restrictions are violated. 

   Section 41 of the CONSTITUTION OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA,1999 as amended,provides

“Every citizen of Nigeria is entitled to move freely throughout Nigeria and to reside in any part thereof, and no citizen of Nigeria shall be expelled from Nigeria or refused entry thereby or exit therefrom.”
