Mahmud Sadis Buba, has drawn widespread attention following his screening for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency seat in Kaduna State. Popularly known as Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau, Buba became a trending topic after a video of his interaction with party screening officials surfaced online on Sunday.

During the screening, Buba revealed that he is the eldest among nine siblings. He explained that his decision to run was inspired by calls from members of his constituency who wanted him to represent them.

“I have fulfilled the requirements, and I ask to be cleared because the people invited me to serve them. This ambition is not for personal gain, but for service,” he told the screening panel.

Buba is contesting for the APC ticket ahead of the 2027 elections and hopes to unseat the current representative of the constituency. When asked why he was challenging the incumbent lawmaker, he replied, “It is the wish of the people, not mine alone.”

His appearance at the screening has generated mixed reactions online. While some applauded his confidence and calmness, others criticised the nature of the questions directed at him, arguing that too much attention was placed on his youthful looks rather than his qualifications and vision.

Supporters describe Buba as a grassroots politician whose emergence reflects growing youth participation in Nigerian politics.

Buba currently serves as chairman of the “Tinubu–Uba Sani Agenda ’27” support group. He holds a NECO certificate and recently purchased the APC expression-of-interest and nomination forms to contest for the House of Representatives seat.

He has also been seen alongside several prominent political figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Seyi Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, and Bello El-Rufai, among others.

Shortly after obtaining his nomination forms, Buba presented them to Senate President Godswill Akpabio as part of his ongoing political consultations.
