Chief Priest stressed that he has no regrets about showing interest in politics, saying his ambition came from a genuine desire to serve his people and raise political awareness in his constituency.

Popular Nigerian businessman and socialite Cubana Chief Priest has reacted to reports that he lost the APC House of Representatives primaries in Imo State.

According to him, he did not actually participate in the election. He explained that he stepped down after the leadership of the All Progressives Congress decided to follow a zoning arrangement within the constituency.

Chief Priest said he had discussions with the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, who explained that it was not yet the turn of his local government area to produce the House of Representatives candidate. The governor reportedly said the current representative should be allowed to continue for another term based on fairness and existing political agreements.

After hearing the party’s decision before the primaries took place, Chief Priest said he chose to respect the party leadership and stay away from the election venue completely. He added that he immediately returned to Lagos and never took part in the voting process.

The celebrity businessman also addressed online criticism and mockery from social media users who claimed he failed to win the APC ticket despite publicly supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He described the rumours as misinformation and said people were only using his name for attention online.

He also made it clear that he remains loyal to the APC and fully supports President Tinubu’s reelection bid in 2027. He encouraged his supporters and members of the City Boy Movement to remain calm, focused, and committed to the party.
