Legend & Latte by Travis Baldry

Recommended: Legend and Latte Travis Baldry’s artwork is $2.99! Carey gave this a squee grade:

Hey guys, I have to say that Legends and Lattes is really, really fun. It was just as pleasant as the coffee shop setting that the main character is trying to create. By the way, this is a cinnamon roll from a book that contains actual cinnamon rolls. I’m in love.

High fantasy with a double shot of self-improvement

Orc barbarian Viv, exhausted after decades of packing steel and raising hell, cashes in on his warrior life with one final score. Her forgotten legends, legendary relics, and her unreasonable hopes lead her to the city of Thun, where she hatches a plan to open the first coffee shop the city has ever seen. It is standing.

But her dream of taking a shot rather than swinging a sword and making a fresh start is all but certain. Her old adversaries and Tune’s suspicious backstory may derail her plans. To ultimately build something lasting, Viv needs a new partner and a different kind of determination.

A hot cup full of romantic bubbles that represents a slice of fantasy life.

    Hello Stranger by Katherine Center

hello stranger Catherine Center price is $3.99! I touched on this earlier in “Hide Your Wallet,” and I think early readers of this book have a good point. The heroine is a face-blind artist.

Sadie Montgomery had no idea what was going to happen. . . literally! One moment she was celebrating the biggest accomplishment of her life, being named a finalist in the Portrait Society of North America’s competition, and the next she was suffering from a “probably temporary” condition known as facial blindness. He was diagnosed with this and was lying in a hospital bed. She can see eyes, but every face she sees is a jumble of disconnected features. Imagine trying to read a book upside down in another language. This is Sadie’s new reality, visible on every face she sees.

But as she struggles to pursue her artistic dreams, grapple with her family’s big problems, and care for her beloved dog Peanut, she falls in love. desire? A temporary obsession to distract from the real issues in her life?—relationships with not one man, but two very different men. The timing couldn’t be worse.

With a little more focus on her life, Sadie might be able to find her own path. But it seems impossible for her to clearly perceive anything right now. There are some things she can’t find unless she looks for them. And some people show up when we least expect it. And there’s always, always another point of view.
